Every year, the Goddess is thanked for her blessings by performing the rituals with great devotion and offering her Bonam or meal. This festival is observed with great fervour at Secunderabad and Hyderabad. On this occasion, women cook a sweetened rice pudding with milk, rice and jaggery in a new pot or vessel, decorate it with vermillion, turmeric and neem leaves and carry it to the Mahakali temple. The Goddess is then offered a saree, turmeric, kumkum, bangles and the food.
