New Year's Holiday - The first holiday to be mentioned in the list of Mizoram holidays in 2020 is New Year’s holiday, which is celebrated on the second day of the new year. As the new year begins, people are given a chance to rejoice so that they can start the year on a good note. While welcoming the Gregorian New Year, natives add some flavour to the celebrations and take part in merry making together with friends and family members. Missionary Day - A popular regional day off in the list of Holidays in Mizoram 2020, Missionary day is celebrated in memoriam of the day when two Welsh missionaries arrived in the state almost a century ago. Almost all the government offices, schools and colleges remain closed on this day. The arrival of these two Missionaries namely Rev J H Lorrain and Rev F W Savidge, resulted in the conversion of most of the Mizo people to Christianity. Consequently, a Presbyterian Church was established in the northern part of the state and a Baptist Church got formed in the Southern region of Mizoram.

State Day - The day on which Mizoram attained its statehood is known as its Statehood day and an important Mizoram holiday in 2020. Previously, the state was a part of Assam until the year 1972 when it was given the status of a Union Territory and carved out from Assam. Finally, as per the fifty-third amendment of the Indian Constitution, it was given the status of a state on February 20, 1987. Ever since then, the entire state has been celebrating its Statehood Day on the twentieth day of February.

Remna Ni - Remna Ni, which is also known as anniversary of the peace accord signed between the Mizo National Front and the central government is known to be a prominent event and also to find a place in the list of Mizoram Holidays in 2020. As a result of this peace accord, the insurgency which had been prevailing in the state for a period of 20 years came to an end ultimately. This particular peace accord was signed between MNF President Laldenga and R D Pradhan, who was the Union Home Secretary. Later on, Laldenga went on to become the interim Chief Minister of Mizoram.

Also known as The Mizo Hmeichhe Insuihkhawm Pawl, the MHIP is one of the biggest voluntary organisations to come into existence in Mizoram.
